Oracle8i on Solaris7: run time library path

According to the documentation, the listener is supposed to give extproc the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, so that the run-time linker will find external libraries. This does not happen, I get the error

ORA-06520: PL/SQL: Error loading external library ORA-06522: ld.so.1: extprocPLSExtProc: fatal: libaccordchemistry.so.3.0: open
failed: No such file or directory

when running one of my PL/SQL procedures. What is wrong?
