Intelligent Agent SNMP process runaway

Hi
can someon help me with this problem.
I'm running an oracel 8 instance on NT on an IBM Netfinity.
When i startup the intelligent agent the SNMP process goes full blast and eats up all my processor power. That's 100% of a PII 400.
I have heard of a fix or workaround for this but cannot find it, thanks
