Hi nikko,
Each Database Instance should have :
Rollback segments, stored in one ore more Tablespace(s), Online Redo- Log Files, stored in groups of Files. Optionally Offline/Archieved Redo- log files, also stored in Files,  if you are using Archived Log Mode (recommended for productional environments)

The Rollback Segments must reside in Tablespaces, which belongs to the Database Instance.
The Filenames for Online Redo Log Files must be unique on the server, you cannot
use the same Files for different Database Instances. It is recommended to define separate destination directories for the Archiched Log Files for each Instance.

Please read Dokumentations about "Backup & Recovers" and "transactions", there
you will find a lot of stuff.
