Hi,
I saw similar problem in different versions (7.2.2, 7.3.2). There were errors when trying to create new connections to a server. Server was under heavy load - a large number of connect/query/disconnect requests (report processing). In many cases there was no any respond on connection request. Client process was simply frozen on connect.
I developed utility to generate a large number of connect/ disconnect pairs. It is interesting that 7.3.3 under NT4 SP3 was quite slow performing this test, but it was most stable and solid version. I ran test for 12 hours. It was up to 100 parallel connections (average was 50). There were no errors.
What error message did you recieve?
