Hardware specs for Oracle8 on Solaris x86

Hi there,

I am trying to get a grip on what would be a good hardware spec for running an Oracle8 database under Solaris x86. I realise that it would depend on what I have the server doing, and what my requirements are, so i shall try outlining them here, in the hope someone will be able to make some good suggestions :)... We have about 50 concurrent users accessing our database at any given time, and to these users speed is important. The database at this stage is not huge - 500meg, however it is growing steadily and will probably be doubling in size every year (at least in the next year or two anyhow). At the moment, during settign up of the database (we are migrating from SQL Server 6.5), we are running it with a PII-300, and a UW-SCSI 4gig hard drive, and 256mb ram. How much effect would adding a second processor, and another hard drive or two, and possibly more ram, have on this system? Would say 2 x PII-400 cpus make a huge difference to the system? Or if anyone knows of any place where I can find all of this kind of information, I would be most greatful.

Thanks,
