I cant think of any books out there going into further detail, there are some sort of oracle internals courses tailored for customers, since alot of this information is company confidential. I assume you can always post on the newsgroup or ask someone at oracle for more info. But like I said, many structures and stuff are considered confidential.

yeah I guess some courses would explain more... hmm well you can always ask here...
