In my opinion the 7.3 books are fine for 8.0. The 8 production CD (at least mine) comes about 95M of HTML documentation which is all I use. I have several of the handbooks listed and use them as supplements sometimes. The 8.0 Oracle doc's ARE expensive but I was told most was contained in the HTML.
