Oracle 7.3.2.2, Novell 3.12 server/client performance problem

Has anyone ever experienced the following ? After installing our application (developed in Delphi 2, using BDE 3.5 and Oracle client software 7.2) works perfectly, even speedy ;-)) When using the Oracle 7.3 client with Novell's driver of march 1997 for Netware 3.12 our application locks up on querying the database. I'm now trying to install Oracle 7.2 client.
We're using the SPX protocol. PS the network is rather small with very little traffic, and there aren't any congestions (according to Novell), logging in into Oracle isn't a problem. TNSPing takes rather long avg. 3600 ms (compared to the Home base, where we're using Oracle 7.3 for NT) .

Any suggestions, please ?
