It might be satisfying after a long hard day to flame those who don't follow the rules of news, but it is infinitely more productive to remind people that there are rules and to point them to where to find them.

My ISP has over 10k worth of newsgroups (closer to 20k), and N* is way down the list, and IF a newbie even knew to start looking there, it would take awhile to find it, or to overlook it during an IEBEYEBALL scan. I didn't count, but there are very many NEWS.* groups, not to mention the *NEWS.* groups.

Thank you, I knew if I mentioned it someone would put out the useful information for all to see.

it just isn't intuitively obvious to the casual observer where to start, what to look for or how to recognize it when it bites them.
