newbie question about scheduling a job in Linux

Hello,
I have RH 7.1 installed and Oracle8i. I would like linux to automatically run a job (exporting table information, via exp prog, into a flat file as backup) for me. Can I do this in Linux and how do I tell Linux to do a job?
