Alot more money in programming than in networking. I think senior Cisco
people can do well, but it takes a while to get there. Also, the networking
market is very tight. Its pretty flooded with paper MCSE's.
You could go the developer to DBA to Network Admin/DBA route.
If you go networking dont just do Microsoft. Learn Cisco and Unix administration as well.
One other thing about programming.. its very hard at first, but do it at work for a year and it quickly gets easier. Yes you have to learn alot more, but anyone can get it. They just dont teach it very well at universities.
