Hi,
Hopefully I am just making an elementary mistake, but I can't seem to find it. I'm trying to create a dabatase link, and even though it appears as though the link is created, when I try to use it I keep getting a 12154 TNS:could not resolve service name error.
My tnsnames.ora file contains:
CT42A.WORLD =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = p3apbtk3)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ct42))
)
CT42JTEST1.WORLD =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ct42jtest)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ct42))
)
and I've been using the syntax
create public database link ct42a
connect to USERNAME identified by PASSWORD
using 'CT42A';
Does anyone have any ideas what;s wrong. I can connect to both databases without any trouble using SQL+ and Net*.
Thanks in advance
Bryan
