If your Oracle is on Unix, take a look at the easiest backup and recovery tool (set of unix scripts).
And any more, never think about backups (cold and hot), oracle crashes (invalid or missing datafile) and tons of archived logs. Please feel free to email me if you have any problem or any advice. Have a good day.
