16-bit SQL*Net V2.3.3

We use 16-bit VB3 applications to connect to 7.3.4 Databases. These applications use SQL*Net V2.3.3 16-bit software and the default ODBC drivers that comes with Oracle version 7.3.4.

We have installed and implemented this software on numerous combinations of servers (several UNIX versions, Windows NT, VMS and Novell) and clients (Win3.11, Win95, Windows NT) for years now, without having any problems.

As always, there is an exception! When installing the client software on a Windows95 Novell client PC with MS Winsock 2.0, the application keeps crashing. When deinstalling Winsock 2.0 and reinstalling Winsock 1.1 the problems seem to disappear. These problems are non-exsisting on the Windows Workstation NT 4.0 winsock 2.0 machines.

We suspect the 16-bit Oracle client to be the cause of our problems, although we haven't been able to verify it! I checked the Oracle, Microsoft an Novell sites for information, haven't found anything remotely similar to this problem. Can anybody tell me if there are issues concerning the combination 16-bit SQL*Net V2.3.3 and Winsock 2.0 on Novell?
