Hi,

To change the name of the database follow the steps below.

1). Shutdown the database.
2). Using an Editor open the init.ora file ( e.g initorcl.ora file in the

                          $ORACLE_HOME\DATABASE\ directory )
3). Change db_name paramter to the name of the database you want give. 4). Startup the database using ORCALE_SID set to the name of the database.
