How to create a new database?

I am new to Oracle, and have the following problem. My Oracle Lite 3.0.5.1.6 versjon (ORDBMS) is set up to use the polite-database. Whenever I log on to SQL*Plus i log on with my username, pasword and the string "odbc:polite". I have however tried to create a new database both from the "Oracle Navigator" and from the SQL*Plus prompt, but I can't figure out how to access it from SQL*Plus.

I know my problem is bad formulated. Let me put it this way: What should I do to make a new database that is independent from the polite.dbc? And how do I connect to it with the SQL*Plus? I am confused with the dialog-box which appears whenever I enter SQL*Plus
"Chose datasource" where my options are several from both
"Fildatasource" and "Computerdatasource". I usually select the option
"POLite (not shareble).dsn" when connecting to the polite database.

If you could explain some of this to a newbe, it would be great!

Thank you very much in advance.
