Pass. The intro in the ODBC API ref man is fairly reasonable.

You need an ODBC driver for each DBMS that you want to connect to. Don't know of any ODBC drivers for FileMaker though...

Yes, I've even written one (for VMark's uniVerse). The place to start is to get the MacODBC SDK either from one of the developer CDs (I think MacODBC 2.1.2 is on the Sep 96 CD) or it's available from one of the Apple FTP sites.

PS comp.sys.mac.databases is the right place to ask these questions...
