I've used DBtools.h++ and it's a very good product. 8) It makes it very easy to integrate your applications with diverse databases (supposedly, I've only used it with Oracle) and it shallows the database learning curve quite a lot. The only downside I've seen is that you occasionally have to resort to throwing raw SQL strings at the database which ruins your cross-DB portability.
