Well, Oracle supply a precompiler, and you could also go the API route with Oracle's OCI. ODBC is also an option on UNIX these days. DBtools++ is also a product I see mentioned quite a lot, although I haven't used it (someone around here will certainly be able to supply you with more info.) There are many other alternatives.

In short, look around and find a product that best suits *your* needs and experience.
