Steve,

	We've used Tuxedo successfully for years in our OLTP systems,
	but we haven't used the XA interface.  I believe Tuxedo is
	currently owned by ITI (yeah, we wrote it, then gave it away
	just like Unix).  Other leading ones were NCR's Top End 
	(owned the company, gave IT away) and the one from Encina,
	which I think(?) was named Trans-Arc (never owned the product
	or the company).  Oracle and Sybase should have recommendations
	so I would check with them.  Sounds like the right way to go
	in your case as long as it works as advertised.
