I’ll second what Rich has mentioned if you are doing a sudo as part of the process. Here are the steps I have used (same as Rich’s, just cleaned up a little bit :-) )
echo $DISPLAY xauth list sudo su - oracle xauth add [output from xauth list in original session] export DISPLAY = [value from original session] xclock # test
