I could use one of the other forms of auth and even roll my own. Easy enough to change likely if I ever get to that point. Honestly if I ever get to 100-1000 users I will be happy. I figure if Oracle can handle 1M it can handle 1000 easily without concern. Since APEX offers db auth as an option they should be looking a being able to scale to 1M if they can't already. Global scale of any app is unpredictable.
