The snapshotting is a killer feature and a genuine agility facilitator.
But, I wonder how robust and reliable ACFS really is, as not many people seem to use it.

ACFS snapshots would be the main reason to go with ACFS.
It probably is. There were no major changes in ASM for a long time. The last major change I can remember is the ability to copy stuff to and from OS using asmcmd.
