This is new to me (12.2 sqlplus history) and, while it’s a definite improvement over not having any history in sqlplus, it seems a bit clunky command-wise to me.

In addition to what others have mentioned, it might be a good time to consider this: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sqlcl/overview/index.html

Hi Jeffrey,

If you download the 12.2 client you can take advantage of the new history functionality: https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/oracle/oracle-database/12.2/sqpug/HISTORY.html#GUID-CCF9B047-3122-4644-BA06-5FA4B5812E9F<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.oracle.com%2Fen%2Fdatabase%2Foracle%2Foracle-database%2F12.2%2Fsqpug%2FHISTORY.html%23GUID-CCF9B047-3122-4644-BA06-5FA4B5812E9F&data=02%7C01%7CJSweetser%40icat.com%7Cf2551526be5c47bc7fd708d55221fd44%7C5d3bf30e9adb4c17b2425c17523e6e5e%7C0%7C0%7C636505228296022665&sdata=aoSDQl9exbFKBdgi6IBdolsiKnK3EjEMCFj284vW37U%3D&reserved=0>
