There are 64 bit machines with LESS than 8 Gb of memory? ;)

Seriously, there's a difference (as we hopefully know) between what will work and what is certified. If the original poster requires a supported environment, they need to go with an configuration that is listed on the certify site, as others have mentioned. It may work in other environments, like Kellyn mentioned, but it may not be supported.

Leaving aside the certification issue, if the original poster could look at the relevant logs they might see just what the error is. We need that before we can troubleshoot anything really, also as Kellyn mentioned. J Telling us it stops 60% of the way through isn't a vast amount of help without the actual error message.

Would you consider using a Virtualbox Guest VM instead of installing directly onto your laptop? That way, you can chose a supported OS version and control (easily) the resources allocated to the Guest VM.

That way you have two options, either install it from scratch, or download the VirtualBox template from HYPERLINK "http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux"edelivery.oracle.com/linux (https://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=16621066)

Whether in a VM or on raw iron, the OEM Cloud Control has a significant resource requirement. If the OP's machine does not run a 64 bit OS and does not have 8GB RAM, it will be a challenge to get OEM installed and running properly.

That said - I have the VirtualBox VM running on a MacBook Pro and am quite happy.
