Was looking for answer to the GG monitoring yesterday... Haven't installed it yet but contacted our OEM admin to get moving on it:

I have a set of Perl screen scraper scripts I wrote in 2005 (for GG8?) to graph via gnuplot and email alert on lag times but they probably need some massaging to work on GG11. Contact me off list if interested, I am looking for someone running a modern version of GG to see how they work.... then I will tidy them up and release to public domain.
