I am only guessing here but ...

You would clearly be installing the RAC option in your database. Since you have installed and used the software, you would would almost certainly have to license it.

I have never seen anything in the OLSA stating that the number of nodes in you RAC cluster influences the need to license the option.

I wouldn't waste time talking to Oracle Support on this. In my experience, they have always refused to comment on anything that even *might* relate to licensing.

If you really want to be certain, I suppose you could call the Oracle LMS (License Management Services) people and ask them to audit you. If you pass the audit, you are compliant. If you don't pass the audit, however, it might get pricey.

Short of that, perhaps you should just read the license, and then *imagine*what the most hostile, mean-hearted, anal-retentive, and imaginative auditor
might try to enforce on you. And then license accordingly. :-)
