dump whole database to SQL text file

Hi!

I'm looking for reliable method to export all database content to SQL script, which, in future, may be run on empty database and thus to recreate it.
(Just as it is done in MySQL dump utility). I would also like to compare these dump scripts by *NIX diff utility. Yes, I understand how clumsy this is!

Or, does anybody know how to compare two databases precisely and see the difference?
