I've seen that as well. It depends.
I've also recently seen, on node crash, the following two things 1. ASMLIB does not recognize a disk in a diskgroup and can't mount the diskgroup. thereby not allowing the instances to start. ASM starts up just fine :)
2. OCR corrupted for Instance registration and I have to manually re-register the resources.
This is all on Redhat linux x86-64 (2.6.9) running Oracle 10.2.0.3 for all pieces of the oracle stack.

not really a question to be answered (i've currently got several SRs open) but if anyone knows of common issues with the OCR corruption that would be awesome. This has happened to us several times now. the diskgroup issue I need to work through. It appears our sys admins wrote their own udev implementation but want to blame asmlib for the lack of recognizing the disk. oddly enough, when we re-run start_udev and then a oracleasm scandisks, the disk 'magically' appears.
