If you have not yet read the above links, you may want to do so.

In retrospect it should have been obvious that 7 million sqlnet calls are not likely to complete in 3 seconds.

Niall had it right, the counts here are important.

After reading the 2 articles referenced above you will see how to get a more accurate accounting of the time involved.
