OEM 10g Greed Control

Anyone else having major stability issues with 10.1.0.3 Grid Control and the Agents? Here's a brief list of issues that I've encountered since the obnoxious installation has been completed:

  1. On our only production 10g server, the Agent seems to be dropping 388 warnings per day into the listener.log of "WARNING: Subscription for node down event still pending" despite no such events listed in EM.
  2. The RefreshFromMetalink job doesn't work (despite claims that it was fixed in the .3 patch) and is permanently in a "Stop Pending" state.
  3. The above error is now supposedly fixed in 10.1.0.4. The README for the Linux x86 port of that patch says not to use it, but to use 10.1.0.4.1 instead, which is not available. But Support says it is, just that the patch hasn't been renamed or documented properly from 10.1.0.4.
  4. The 10.1.0.4 (.1) patch says to make sure to upgrade all Agents to 10.1.0.4, but it's not available for HPUX. It also recommends using the EM Patch Manager to deploy. See item #2 for why this won't work.
  5. The EMS, Console, and Agents all generate several Java and/or Oracle errors daily or whenever the Console is attempted to be used. These in turn are happily emailed to me by my log checker.
  6. Once a target is deleted (required to "reset" confusion between an Agent and the EMS), it doesn't appear to be able to be re-addeded by dynamic discovery. And there also doesn't appear to be a way to delete the list of deleted targets.
  7. In order to initiate dynamic discovery on the Agent side, it must be re-freaking-installed. And this didn't fix item #1, either.
  8. The Agent's processes regularly cause forty SYS/PUBLIC objects to become invalid, flagging a policy violation in EM. The workaround is to drop that policy.
  9. Most of these features do not appear to be documented anywhere.
  10. What "Enterprise" deems this as acceptable?

I liked using EM to get an intro to some of the new 10g features (AWR, ADDM, etc.), but I'm spending way too much time debugging EM than being productive.

</vent>
