That makes sense. So the resync gets the new records into the indexes and the optimize cleans everything up. I just tried and it looks like optimize cleans up deletes, and resync does the inserts.

We have a bunch of ctx indexes, some we sync every half hour, some every hour. We optimize them weekly. Everything is done through cron for us.
