The license rules (available on the 10g doc CD) does NOT state that you cannot create the source of the data (direct memory access, x$-tables, etc.), but only mentions the v$ stuff. So yeah, it should work.

Perhaps somebody could use the DMA techniques to create a whole new series of Y$-tables, as opposed to v$ and x$?
