What I see in the trace file header is something like the following:

...
*** SESSION ID:(22.9304) 2003-12-29 15:04:45.743 ...

Which is sid.serial# isn't it?

If "session switching" occurs, handled by the same shadow process and the new session with a different sid.serial# continues to write to the **same** trace file... wouldn't you expect to see line similar to the above, but with a new sid.serial# in it?
