I agree with Scott, there's no problem with importing an Oracle 7 export into an Oracle 8 database. Vice versa is what would give you problems in which case you would export the Oracle8 database using the Oracle7 export utility in order to import it into a 7 database.

OK, why? I guess I missed something, as I have imported 7.3.4 dump files (7.3.4 exp utility) into 8.1.5 (using 8.1.5 imp) with no problem...
