And yet we are all brothers and sisters. When I was a member of the Jaycees I grew to appreciate a line from the Jaycee Creed which says,

"We believe the brotherhood of mankind transcends the sovereignty of nations."

(The Jaycees is a community service and leadership development organization for young people. You have to be less than 30 to be a member so it's been awhile.)

As part Native American (a mere 1/16th Cherokee :-) I could say everyone should get off my land but "Native" Americans once immigrated from someplace else too. Then again, my great grandfather was an immigrant in the Oklahoma land rush so my ancestry is not only of the dispossessed, but of the dispossessors. Ultimately, we all come from a heritage of natives and immigrants, dispossessed and usurpers. But most importantly, we are all bothers and sisters in the family of man. The brotherhood of DBA's on this list consists of guru's and newbies. Let's appreciate our diversity.

OK, that's my sermon for today :-)
