Waiting for smon to disable tx recovery

Hello,

About an hour ago I issued a shutdown immediate command to an 8.1.6.2.0 database running on Solaris 7. The alert log shows an ALTER DATABASE CLOSE NORMAL and then Waiting for smon to disable tx recovery. The smon process has now used about 52 minutes of CPU time.Is there a way for me to determine what is going on? Earlier in the day I had killed a process that seemed to be running out of control and that process never cleaned up but I don't know what the interaction is.

Thanks.

I like to pick up hitchhikers. When they get in the car I say, 'Put on your seat belt. I want to try something. I saw it once in a cartoon, but I think I can do it.' Received on Mon Dec 04 2000 - 21:38:34 CST
