RE: Urgent! Online redo log files corruption

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oracle Support stated very clearly that the database would not be in a supported state (meaning they have the option of NOT answering any future problem questions) if the hidden parameter is used.

So you are telling Winnie that what support told her is a load of horse hockey. Now, maybe it's true that the database will be fine if she has done a shutdown normal or immediate (but if the online logs are lost the odds are high she had to do a shutdown abort to close the database in any case). But whether or not it's true, support said that Oracle's policy is that the database is no longer in a supported state.

It's TOTALLY irresponsible to tell someone that they do not have to do what Support told them in this case.

I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume that the "too much travel this week" meant that you were tired and not thinking clearly when you said that.
