Hi there,

I'm going to upgrade my Oracle 7.1.3 to 7.2.3. What I'm planning to do is:

  1. Install a fresh new copy over another machine on external HD
  2. Move the disk across to the old server
  3. Update /var/opt/oracle/oratab.
  4. restart the server

Is this feasible? Anything I left? All I could think of is the old database, which I could either using the upgrade option or the dump/load. Which is perferable? BTW, I don't have sql*form & menu stuff. The 2 versions of Oracle have diff. home.

Looking for your reply.

Wilson.
