Is there a way to FULLY automate a hot standby database? (besides waiting
for V7.3).
Surely, this has been successfully implemented by some of you out there.
The problem lies in the fact that when doing a RECOVER AUTOMATIC to
automatically apply the archive logs to the standby database, it never stops
to say media recovery complete (even though it is). I have to say CANCEL
when it looks for the next log that hasn't even been created yet. Talking
with Oracle analyst #2, she said that this was the way it worked, and there
was no way to fully automate what I was trying to do. Their technical
bulletin on standby databases is of no help either.
We're running V7.1.6 on ATT 3000.
Thanks for any suggestions.
