do aliases slow database requests?

It seems to be clear that creating an alias with an "AS" takes little
time. This might not be important in single requests, but what about a
high frequence of "small" requests that do not take much time. Does the
use of aliases relevantly slow down database requests in this special
scenario. Building an alias name might be a string function internally.
Are there any experiences about this "problem".
