Okay here is one way of solving this domain problem. If you are using your machine as an independent machine or want to connect to the internet now and then and work offline also or want to work in office as well as in home with the same machine or want to use the same machine for different domains you have to configure
the machine to provide it self a constant IP and get name a domain for yourself.

Most of the software such as Oracle 9iAS Release 2 Enterprise edition, Netscape Directory Servers etc... require a Static IP or a Static IP and an associated domain for their installation as well as smooth working.

You can provide a static IP to your machine by installing "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" its a virtual hardware network. Here is the link thats explains how to set it up

Then once you set up this it automatically a static IP for itself. Then you can name the domain of your machine as foo.com or yourname.com
in the ip configuration or machine identification of your computer.

Then the installation should go smooth.
