Connecting to old database after OS upgrade

Aloha ppl,

I have just upgraded WinNT to Win2K. Everything works great except Oracle 8i Enterprise. All necessary system and control files are intact. All listeners are seen and running. The main Oracle Database services are NOT even in the services list. DB Assistant only gives the option to create a new database. Is there anyway to get the old databases to start-up?
