Today I installed the Oracle 8.0 Client Software onto a NT 4.0 SP4 (German) machine.
It seemed to work without problems. I can connect to the server using SQL+. But when trying to create a service I get problems:
I create the service using TCP/IP and the standard settings enabling routing (ROUTE=YES).
When I try to test the connection I get an error (translated):
"Initializing OCIW32.DLL failed."
When pressing OK the status window of Net80 Assisitant tells me it's trying to connect but never succeeeds. My problem is: Without the service I cannot setup an Oracle ODBC DSN.
I have a different machine where all works fine. Are there any known problems in this area?
