Oracle allows a query to be cancelled on the server. With 7.x it was only obreak(), an OCI call that sigalrm could wake your process up to execute. I seem to remember we got it working on Alpha and SQLNET v2. With 7.2 and onward, async I/o came in.
It isn't so much a function of sqlnet as of the product you are using and whether they implement it or not, although Oracle issues the caveat that at least the obreak() call isn't guaranteed wto work on all network/ server configurations. Received on Wed Oct 30 1996 - 00:00:00 CET
