I don't have enough info to respond. What are the students going to be doing? What are you teaching? There is a management/space issue here for you are your support staff to consider. For Example if your simply teaching SQL or Introduction level then why not create one student tablespace all of there objects will be unique to their schema. ASHI is correct keep them seperated from the SYSTEM tablespace. Again if this not DBA training then make sure you have changed the SYS and SYSTEM passwords form the install.
