Oracle 7.3 & multithreading

We observed an almost 10 times degradation in performance in running our Pro*C/C++ code against Oracle 7.3 with multithreading enabled, as compared with Oracle 7.2.3 (single-threaded).
Oracle tells us this is a bug (no kidding!).
