Hi all,
Anybody had any luck getting OEM working? I'm having trouble getting the Communication Daemon on the OEM console to communicate with the agent on the server. When I do a "ping agent" in the Daemon Manager, I get a message that says "Failed to find agent address for gamma", where "gamma" is the name of my server. I have configured the tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora, and topology.ora files on the console and the snmp.ora, sqlnet.ora, and listener.ora files on the server. I made sure that the SNMP agent address in the tnsnames.ora file matches the the dbsnmp.address entry in the snmp.ora file.
When I do a "lsnrctl dbsnmp_status" on the server, it tells me that the DB subagent is already running. I assume this is good. If I do a "ps -ef|grep dbsnmp", I see two dbsnmp processes, one started by the other. I'm not sure if this is good.
I've specified port 1527 for the agent, but there is no corresponding entry in my /etc/services file. The documentation doesn't mention a need for this. Also, I wonder is there is any relevance to the name I give for the agent in the console tnsnames.ora file, other than that it should match the name in the topology.ora file. It doesn't seem to match anything on the server.
Any help would be appreciated.
