you can convert your 2.3 apps using the forms 4.5 generator (f45gen). you can keep you v2 triggers but you should try to convert them to v3 as they are much more clear and robust.

there is a character mode runtime. the designer only runs in gui.

it can run exactly like your v2.3 apps ran. everyone accesses the same shared executable and forms.
