In Reports 2.5, the form letter style creates a boilerplate as the top level of the report (it creates it the size of a letter and uses the fields as referenced fields in the letter). To change the format of one of the fields, use the object navigator, under the layout section there is a section labeled body. It will have at least one repeating frame (if you let the report generate the layout, i.e. default layout, the repeating frame will be R1, R2 etc.). The fields are associated with the repeating frame, find the field name you want to change, right mouse click on it, select properties from the pop menu. The property sheet will display where you can change the format mask.
If you have any other questions, let me know.
